Bites on body – Burning and itching Bed bug bite rash across a localized area in multiple straight lines.

Dead bed bugs – If bed bugs are present in our beds or bedrooms, some will be squashed when we go to sleep – whether they’re actually in the bed or under the mattress.

Dark/black stains – Blood stains on your sheets and pajamas from bed bug excreta.

Bed bug eggs – They are about the size and color of small grains of rice.

In the end, I have to be very honest with you - it's not easy work, especially for beginners. I myself did several dozen bat jobs, and made many big mistakes, before I got good at it. Bat Removal - How To Get Bats Out of Buildings

Step 1: Perform a full inspection of the building. This is to determine exactly how the bats are getting in and out. Click here to read more about how to do a bat inspection.

Step 2: Perform an attic inspection, and learn to identify the species of bat. This is important because different bats have different birthing and hibernating seasons. Read more here on my colonizing bat species page.

Step 3: Exclude the bats - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAP THEM. Read here why you should not try to do bat trapping, but rather bat exclusion, which is the process of letting them fly out, but not back in, to the building.

Step 4: Seal up the house to keep bats out permanently. In fact, much of this is done prior to the exclusion - just be sure not to seal up the primary exit points while any bats are inside!! Read more about how to seal up the building properly on my bat prevention page.

Stray dogs/cats and means for solving the problem

Killings as a solution
So why does not killing the dogs reduce the stray population?

Firstly, there is no easy, cost efficient and humane way to kill this many dogs. Because a majority of the dogs are owned they would first have to be collected into a shelter to give the owner a reasonable chance to retrieve their lost pet before euthanasia. This process is slow and unefficient, and the remaining dogs in the street are left to reproduce at the same rate as they are collected and put down.

If we only look at killing the dogs in an efficient way,the most attractive would be poisoning. Needless to say, it's a cruel and painful way and also puts other animals and humans, especially children, at risk.

Also shooting might seem as a good idea, because it is both cheap and efficient and, done correctly, causes a quick and painless death. Shooting dogs directly in the street would be the fastest way but is of course impossible - all living creatures would be at risk. We also know, based on the experience with tranquilizing guns, how hard it is to get a clean shot on a scared animal that moves very quickly. Thus it would be inevitable that a large percentage of the dogs shot would only be wounded instead of killed.

If the dogs would be collected to a shelter before the killing we are again back to an unefficient and costly procedure. The dogs would still be reproducing in the street and the solution would be only temporary - and causing the stray dog population to even encrease. Killing the dogs in a humane way in a shelter is of course to be prefered over the cheaper, more brutal ways, but in Romania there is no guarantee of a painless euthanasia. Money, carelessness and indifference are factors that make even the most humane plan on euthanasia fail. Besides, even if there was a way, and a will, the killings will only empty the streets short term, because new dogs would arrive and reproduce and it would be a never ending circle.
